73: JJ Ramberg: Goodpods and Good Business

What is the latest “Good” venture from one of America’s best-known social entrepreneurs?

In this episode of the Manage Your Message Podcast host Jim Karrh welcomes journalist and entrepreneur JJ Ramberg, founder of a new venture called Goodpods.

Most know JJ from the 12 years she hosted the weekend MSNBC show “Your Business.” The show highlighted hundreds of business owners and entrepreneurs. She has also hosted a podcast called “Been There Built That” and a series on BBC World News called “Follow the Food.”

JJ is also quite the entrepreneur herself. With her brother Ken, she co-founded Goodsearch and later Goodshop. Goodshop provides coupons for shopping deals on the Internet—but also makes a donation to the nonprofit or school of your choice for almost everyone purchase made. Over the past nine years Goodshop has raised more than $13 million for its connections to more than 114,000 nonprofits and schools.

Now there is a new venture—Goodpods—which is a social podcasting app.

JJ has an English degree from Duke University and an MBA from Stanford, and some great stories!
